Be Still - Lisa Chan Review & Giveaway

Earlier this summer I was blessed to be invited to review Lisa Chan’s film; "Be Still" the first film in her new True Beauty series. Lisa, an amazing woman of God is the wife of well-known pastor; Francis Chan author of Crazy Love and Forgotten God.;
Being a major fan of the Chan’s I was excited and eager to participate in the review but soon busyness overtook me and I put the review to the side.

The morning I watched the film was preceded by a restless night. Tossing and turning, sleep eluding me until I finally decided to get up and start my day. Sure it was slightly half past 3 am but what else was I going to do, sleep had long since fled and there was work that could be done. As I made my way into the living room the Holy Spirit gently nudged me to watch the film. Well, I thought it is quiet and I can watch it in peace, little did I know this film would provide the answer and rest I was looking for.

I love how God has a keen way of sending you exactly what you need right when you need it. This film could not have shown up at a better time in my life as I had found myself in the midst of swirling busyness. I had been feeling like I was losing my center, grasping for balance and desperate to breath, I needed to “be still”.
I found it ironic that as the film started the clock on the screen flashed 3:57 am the exact time flashing on my computer clock. Clearly I needed to see this film at this appointed time.

As I sat in the stillness of the early morning Lisa’s words drove home, hitting its intended target – my heart. Tears welled up in my eyes as she asked “Have you been still lately, hushed, subdued, soft, and free from disturbance? Have you been STILL before God? Have you really listened to God, been in that quiet place?”
Having been caught up in the whirlwind of being a wife, a mom, work and ministry this video called out the Martha in me and poured into the Mary.

This film brought me back full circle to what really matters most and what's really missing in the lives of so many women and that's God. Like Martha we know the Lord but in the every day hustle and bustle of life we get so busy serving, serving our families, serving in our churches and communities we

neglect to spend the much needed time at his feet.

Lisa said something so profound in this video, she said "There's plenty of people that would say, 'If Jesus literally walked through my door, I would know to sit there and listen to Him.' But we have access to the same Jesus, every day, and why don't we choose to sit at His feet?"

Well Watered Women of God this film is a clarion call to every woman who is a believer.
From the woman who finds herself overwhelmed with all of life, to the woman who just simply hungers for more quiet time with the Lord, this video will minister, encourage and challenge you to "Be Still".

I highly recommend this video for personal reflection and time with the Lord, as well as a great resource to view with your women’s group, bible study or friends.
